The Pharmacy Act, 1948 Act (Central Act) was enacted to regulate the profession of pharmacy
by making better provisions under the said act for its regulation. One of the mandates of the
said act is to constitute Pharmacy council.
The Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh has constituted the Ladakh Pharmacy
Council vide notification Dated 8 th April 2022 and published in the Ladakh Gazette.
Similarly the UT Administration has already notified the Ladakh Pharmacy Council Rules
2022 Vide notification Dated 1 st March 2022.
After bifurcation of erstwhile J&K State into UTs & Since, the J&K Re-organization Act, 2019
was implemented, the constitution of the Ladakh Pharmacy Council is considered as a big
achievement for UT Ladakh and in particular for the pharmacy Degree & Diploma holders
and pharmacists holding registration under the erstwhile J&K State repealed Pharmacy
Council Act, Samvat 2011.
For the ease of the applicants the Ladakh Pharmacy Council has decided to Process &
Issue the Registration Certificates through online portal (ladakhpharmacycouncil.co.in) from
1 st …….2024.
